That’s actually way more than 10 because there are so many friends with the Desert Dogs!
It has been quite a while since we have asked for help with donations
but we find ourselves in dire need.
Right now PugHearts has 43 dogs in our care and available for
adoption! We have never had this many dogs in care before. We are
stretched to the limit with our foster homes and are having to board
some of our newest dogs at our vet clinic until foster homes can be
found. In addition, many of these new dogs have come to us with severe
medical issues. So now we need to ask you to dig deep to help us cover
our costs and get these babies well enough to be adopted out.
Complicating matters more, we recently had a “hold” placed on our
PayPal account which we utilize for receiving donations. PayPal
required proof of our non-profit status prior to releasing this hold.
We were able to provide this information however, PayPal took quite a
while to clear all their red tape and release our account. Our account
has now been restored to good standing but we had quite a period
without any incoming funds that left us with large unpaid veterinary
bills. Our present balance at our vet is around $15,000. With all of
the recent new rescues we expect that bill with grow significantly
before the month is out.

we hosted the Los Angeles Pug Meetup at the Zoom Room on Saturday.

Lil alien wrote about it more in his blog.
After mah brit friends relocated to Houston, their life was touched by Alfie who inspired Pug Hearts of Houston. This organization rescues pugs, most of who are in desperate need of TLC, and nurses them back to health. Then these pugs are sent to forever homes if they make it through their ordeal. Many pug rescues hold on to deeply sick or abused pugs to use as a fundraising tool. They never let anyone (even those who have the tie and resources to properly care for the pug) adopt the pug, and they continue to collect donations in that pug’s name for years to comes. Pug Hearts is not like this. They set goals for each pug and are honest on every treatment given to him. It is refreshing to see a pug rescue that actually cares about the pugs, and is truly non-profit! The fee is $200 to adopt a pug, not the ridiculous $600-$900 that some rescues charge!!!!!! Please support pug hearts as much as you can, and consider adopting one of their special need pugs.
