May 22, 2006 Puggles

I have long been saying that while Puggles, and Pugadoos, and Bug Pugs, Pugaranians, and all the other Pug Mixes are fine and I love them all like they are pure breed pugs. (Just like I love all things like they are pure breed pugs.) I do not agree with paying ridiculous prices for a mutt, a crossbreed, a hybrid, or whatever you want to call then. They are not worth the extra cost, because someone labels them DESIGNER.

I read this article a while back, but want to provide a link to it for all those seeking Puggles, for the sake of having a hip, trendy dog. http://www.pugs.org/Puggles.htm

“If you want a crossbreed – go to your local shelter or call an all breed rescue. They are chock full of dogs waiting for good homes. If you want a Pug, buy a Pug. If you want a Beagle, buy a Beagle. “

If you are buying a dog to be a pet, then I say you should buy a dog based on love. I don’t care where you buy it from or who. YOu love that dog and will give it a good home, do it. Even if it is a pet store in a mall (be prepared for some health issues in many cases), or your neighbor Sally’s house, or whatever. If you plan to show or breed (be committed and do your research please) then buy a pedigreed purbred genetically wonderful dog and have at it. But please don’t buy into a trend just because the NY Post tells ya to. Be a responsible pet owner and buyer.

Okay, read da article please *snort*

March 20, 2006 Miami is Pug Plum Crazy

The Ricky tells me that Hollywood and Miami ain’t the same, but: “The dognapped Hollywood puggle is back home Friday with a case of the sniffles and plenty of media fanfare.” *snort*

“The puggle, valued at $1,000, was snatched over a week ago from its home in an open bin at 441 Puppies and Grooming. A man in baggy clothing picked up the pup and shoved it down his pants before walking out.”

First off. Why is a puggle valued at $1000? *schnurf* A puggle is still a mutt , just slapped with a designer label. Most purebred dogs, pugs included, don’t cost $1000. *snort*

Second: Who sticks a dog down his pants? Only in Miami, errrrrm *schnurf* Hollywood. He then gave it to his girl in Miami who kept the stolen puggle for a week.

Miami Herald Story

“A Miami woman faces five years in prison and a $5,000 fine for her suspected role in stealing a $1,300 puppy she returned to its Hollywood owners Friday, officials said.”

The sun-sentinal reports the dog is worth $1300. Reporters should fact check sometimes *snort* right, mom?
