The State of Arnold Assembly has approved a bill (SB 861) that allows cities and counties to regulate breeds of dogs. Current state law prohibits municipalities from passing any ordinance that targets a specific breed of dog, which is logical as it is not the breed of dog, but the breed of humans that are the problem *snort*
The bill will “allow local governments to require spaying and neutering of specific breeds and to shut down so-called backyard breeders”. De bill does not go as far as to ban specific breeds, but it paves the way.... fer sure.
Assemblyman Tim Leslie, R-Tahoe City, voted for the bill but said it didn’t go far enough. “It’s time to get rid of these pit bulls,” he said. “Let’s send them to some other state.” Ignant fools like him should be sent to another state, although he was prolly kicked outta another state and sent to the land of loony Arnold in de first place.
Why you ask is the Pug concerned with dis? Well, first off pits are my friends. but the main reason is: “Tehama County has seen two vicious maulings in the last few years. In 2002, 6-year-old Genoe Novach was killed by his neighbor’s dogs, two Rottweiler-pug crosses. A third dog, a Rottweiler, was never proved to be involved in the attack but was also euthanized.” The vicious pug dog. Oh no!

I hope that Odie is feelin’ better....I have been sending himPug blessings all mornin’ and will continue.
Everyone should stop by his site and say hi!
From Orlando: Pup not politically pugnacious
A local column about Republican headquarters in Tavares last week mentioned that the door is sometimes guarded by a little dog who keeps an eye on passers-by. Helen Taylor of Mount Dora called to say that the pooch belongs to her and to report that “Faye Taylor” loves to have her tummy rubbed. Around HQ, she’s known as a “Re-pug-li-can” because of her impeccable breeding. read more

From December 11, 2002 properly documented dogs and cats from the U.S. and Canada can enter the U.K. under the U.K. Pet Travel Scheme (PETS) without spending any time in quarantine. The process requires several detailed steps (in this order): your pet must be microchipped, vaccinated against rabies and then receive a blood test from a U.S. veterinarian. After reviewing the above paperwork, a USDA-authorized veterinarian can supply the official PETS certificate needed to bring your dog or cat into the U.K.. With the proper paperwork in hand, and a final treatment against ticks and tapeworms shortly before travel, your pet can enter the U.K. together without a quarantine requirement!
For a fact sheet and more information, visit the PETS website at http://www.defra.gov.uk/animalh/quarantine/index.htm or call the PETS Helpline on 011-44-870-241-1710 (Monday to Friday - 08.30-17.00 U.K. time).
