Q: how much food should i feed my pug puppy -
A: Follow the directions on the box. Get your pug used to meals or to having food out all the time that he shouldn't gobble down. The amount of food depends on what you are feeding your pug--kibble, raw, canned, etc...

Q: Question are all teacup pugs healthy? -
A: No they aren't unfortunately. Many tea cup pugs were "made" small by not deworming them as puppies or purposely stunting their growth in other ways.

Q: I want to breed my AKC Fawn Male Pug, well use him as a stud. I haven't used a dog as a stud before. What all do I need to know and do to do this? -
A: First off, your dog should be a healthy 2-year-old. the akc website has an abundance of great information, including steps for breeding and DNA. Since most of the work is on the female pug owner's side, it is easier to stud a dog. Prepare to pay a lot of money to get your dog ready and get a small stud fee in return possibly. If your dog is not a champion, then you will most likely not get a stud fee, but rather a pick of the litter. That depends on your deal....

Q: Where would you use lavender oil on a pug -
A: To make it smell nice and to calm and relax it. Although aromatherapy need to be carefully monitored. Oild should be diluted!

Q: when will pugs come in heat? -
A: They usually have their first heat about 6 months to 1 year, and then every 6 months after that.

Q: If my fawn color pug and a balck colored pug had babies.... what color would be the babies? -
A: The babies would be a mixed litter of fawn and black pugs! sometimes pugs can b silver as well. There is no prescribed way to tell what color pugs will but they won't be grey (meaning a black pug and a fawn pug won't make a mixed color pug!)

Q: I have a pug...... and he keeps peeing all over the house!! We know he can hold it. And he always pees after we take him out and he does alot of pees!! What should i do?!? -
A: Is he neutered? He may be marking. He may also be vengeful. Pugs need t be walked every 4-6 hours a day, about 4 times a day at least. If you are not walking your g enough or the walks or too short, he may be getting vengeful and trying to let you know he needs to be outside more or needs more attention.

A: Depends on your budget and your pug's temperament. You may have the means and desire to go with a completely raw diet. Kibble is fine. I eat Nutro Senior, but I grew up on Purina, because that's what was available in carrying distance from my MaMa's NYC apartment *schnurf*

A: At about a year old, your puppy should be on adult food.

Q: Our pug has been having breathing problems, wheezing repeatedly for several minutes. -
A: Could be allergies or a throat infection. If it is unusual and last more than a couple days, take your pug to the vet, so you can get some antibiotics or allergy pills!

Q: do pugs have more difficulty giving birth. -
A: You hear that a lot, mostly from pug clubs and pug rescues trying to dissuade you from breeding your pug. While it is true that some pugs do not have maternal instincts as much as other dogs and need extra help with the baby, it is not a given. It is always a good idea with any dog that a emergency vet is a phone call away in case of difficulty. And smaller pugs may have more difficulty and need a c-section, but again, it is not a given.

Q: how many litters should my female have before i retire her -
A: It really depends on your pug and their age, but generally three litters is a good stopping point. About 2 to 3 litters between the age of 2 and 5 is the guideline.
