Q: When is a pug too old to have puppies? -
A: That depends on who you ask....You'll get the normal, I can't believe you haven't fixed your dog-you are so irresponsible answers, which basically upset me! You'll get that older than 8 is too old to be having a first litter, sometimes that is younger.

In general, your dog should not be bred more than two or three times. Most pugs at age 8 or so are not in the same great health and will not bounce back from a pregnancy. It depends on your own pugs health as well!

In general, when you dog (male or female) hist about 9 or 10, they will not always have it in them to breed.

Q: can pugs be emotional eaters and not eat if they don't get attention -
A: Yes. Some pugs will only eat when people are around. I personally carry each pieve of food out of the kitchen to show my mama that I'm eating until she praises me and tells me she sees me. *snort* a pug should never be in any state where they don't get attention. Pugs require a ton of it! But yes, pugs are definitely emotional eaters!

Q: how old should a pug be before breeding her -
A: 2 years old is a general guideline!

Q: can you breed 2 puggles? -
A: You can breed your puggles, but as with all mixed breed, you cannot predict the characteristics that will pass down to the puppies.

Q: Have you has any major surgeries? -
A: I was neutered a few months ago!

Q: anal glands -
A: Pugs dio have anal glands, and they do need the occassional expelling. You can do this yourself when needed, arrange a reguilar vet appointment (for problem pugs), or worry about it when needed. did you have a question, snort?

Q: I want are the pros and cons of removing a pug puppy from it's litter mates and dam before it is 8 weeks old? -
A: There are really no benefits to the puppies, but the early weaning may allow the dam to be back in shape for a show quicker! In early stages (before 5 week) the puppies need the mother's milk. Once the pug puppies can get around (out of the welping box) on their own, they are usually ready to be weaned. The mother pug will usually nurse until the she has had enough of the puppies.

NKeeping the litter together for at least 8 weeks teached teh needed socail skills. The pug learns how to be a dog! (I was raised my a cat and I think I am a cat mostly!!!!) "Puppies separated from their littermates too early often don't develop appropriate "social skills," such as learning how to send and receive signals, what an "inhibited bite" means, how far to go in play wrestling and so forth. Play is important to help puppies increase their physical coordination, social skills and learning limits." from clickersolutions.com!!!

Q: DO PUGS SMELL -
A: only if you don't bathe them. Pugs do not smell any more than other dogs (or their owners). With proper are, no dog should really smell offensive!

Q: How do you potting train your pug? -
A: PRAISE, don't punish. MAke them want to go outside!

Q: how do pugs age -
A: Pugs are crazy until they are about 3, then they make it to about 10 when they start to slow down and turn gray. Pugs live from 12-18 years of age!

Q: Question Can I bathe my 5 month old Pug once a week? -
A: Most pugs do not need to be bathed once a week, but if your pug has allergies ((or gets real dirty) then once a week is fine. IN summer months, i get baths once a week to get rid of dander and other allergens. IN winter, when my allergies aren't so bad, my mama only bathes me every couple weeks. If i ever start itchiing, i get a bath to stop those allergies!

Q: Question How often can I give my 5 month old pug a bath? -
A: Up to once a week if he needs it. (Only bathe more often if they are on medicated shampoo prescribed by a vet) Most pugs will need to be bathed every 2 to 3 weeks, but some need a weekly bath to ward off allergies or smell

Q: snort -
A: *schnurf*

Q: my pug had low electrolytes, what does that mean, what can i do to make sure it doesnt happen again -
A: in its most basic sense electrolytes are the sodium and potassium contained in water that in in your pug. If your pug had low electrolytes, most commonly it is not drinking enough fresh water and is basically dehydrated. Electrolyte levels can also be caused by some diseases and your vet should diagnose this and prescribe the proper medication. Please speak to your vet, because without more information I cannot give you proper advice!

Q: my pug is old and dying-it is very sad.how do i make her comfortable -
A: Speak to your vet about any medication your pug may need, from pain killers to athritis. GIve your pug the space to feel, but let her know you love her. Feed her by hand if needed. Give her some leeway--whe feels just as bad about peeing in her bed or on the kitchen floor as you do. give your pug love!
