I myself own one of these pugs, she is 10 pounds and by no means some sort of science project! she is very healthy and was breed from a rep.breeder thank you very much. In fact she is not the only pug I have and I would really like to know just where you get your info from? my vet has never once told me to be the look out for health problems of any kind due to her size.What if any kind of vet-med degree do pocess? oh and by the way I noticed the picture of the brindle pug on your web-site, theres something right to standard.Is that dog also at health risk due to the color? - Nameliz

Vets also do not tell puggle owner about their increased risks. They are there to help you not scare you. Ask more questions.

And what cross is you teacup pug? Chihuahua usually--more likely a cross between a chihuahua and a sleev pekingese, not a pug at all. Your reputable breeder should be able to tell you exactly how she created a miniature pug--unles syou just ended up with a runt, which is a different thing all together. Breeding should be done to further the breed, not mutate it. ANd if you find anything humane or natural about 3 to 5 pound pugs, then wish you the best, because it's your prerogative.

Neither of my pugs are brindle, they are both fawn, so I don't know what brindle pug you're talking about. A different hair color is not the result of stunted growth or cross-breeding between dog species (that is then hidden). You however seem to be on the defensive about your teacup pug.

You should love your pug no matter what it is. Your vet should help you no matter what kind of dog you own. YOu should let people have opinions and face facts that your miniature pug was created somehow, at some point in its lineage, whether on purpose or an accident (runt!)

A: Anytime a dog continues to throw up, a trip to the vet is in order. It could be almost anything from eating a couple grapes or drinking antifreeze to kidney failure.

A: No reason to have low self-esteem....You never get poop stuck to hair around your butt, or nasty stains on your white coat. You are unique and lovable, not poofie and rude. A: Females can breed after 2nd heat, males after testicles drop. Ideally, you should wait until the pug is 2 years old to make sure it is free form any genetic or health issues.

A: He's a puppy. Puupies bute and chew. You need to offer alternatives for him to chew on, praising him when he chews on those. You can also try OUCH when he bites too hard, letting him know this is a bad thing. Most pugs calm down sometime between 2 and 3 years old, but the biting will stop when his teething lessens.

A: Pugs can get distant, clingy or excited when you are leaving for a trip. But they always know!

A: you might be overfeeding her. Pug puppies who are overweight tend to look very round in the belly.

A: all pugs grow differently. If you are concerned tho, please take him to the vet to make sure he doesn't have worms or any other problems.

A: Because it is probably not housetrained...plus it probably can''t get on or off the bed, or is scared at night. You didn't wake up, so it peed where it could.

Q: Hi Chewie! I am a 1 1/2 year old pug and I sometimes have awful attacks of heaving. I cannot breathe during this time, only make horrible, choking noises. I get so scared when this happens and I cannot move. Sometimeas when my mistress rubs my throat I calm down, but lately it has gotten worse. It seems to happen mostly when I get really excited. A: Dat has happened to me, but not regularly...if it is getting worse, you should see a vet to check you out. I know its expensive, but it could be another problem like an elongated palette. Hopefully its just reverse sneezing which is caused by excitement......please let me know
