A: Yes, they can. If your female was bred with two different dogs, the puppies could be one full breed and one mutt (or two mutts). A few all pugs and a few pug/chihuahua mixes.

A: She will bleed a bout 7-10 days in her 30 day estrus(heat)....Most vets will not spay dog during their heat because the area is swollen and may be more prone to damage duringthe operation.

Q: Hello, I have a pug that's about a 1 1/2 old now. I found the answer on here about how he'll be hyper until 2 or 3 (when I saw pugs on TV, they always looked so lazy, like the boston terriers I always had). My question is whether or not that will be the time he fattens up? He has so much energy now and I'm sure he runs alot of the weight off, but he also eats ALOT!..yet never seems to gain any weight. He's pretty stout in the legs and shoulders and you can see muscle definition, but he's pretty skinny at the waist and you can see a rib or two. Should I be concerned? - Travis
A: He sounds in good shape and weight. I didn't gain weight until a few months ago! before that i was nice and muscular. It really depends on your pug how much they weigh. If you feel your dog is underweight, you may want to feed him a more nutritious diet.

A: I hope that you watched over your pup for about 48 hours and took her to the vet is she became lethargic or continued vomiting...

A: the puppies will lighten day by day. fawn puppies are born dark, but not totally black. around week five the fawn puppies will have lightened almost totally. a few stragglers will take a couple weeks longer.

Q: Question: My Pug (Pugsley) is very playful w/ everyone in the home including the kids and other dogs, but all of a sudden has been attacking my wife when she is trying to give him a command. A: Your pug could be jealous of the new baby. and showing anger towards the person who seems to have caused the baby (and spend the most time with it). Plus, you're wife may be a bit more short tempered and stresses (because of the baby) which the pug is picking up on. Pugsley may need to spend some time at daycare while your wife nurses the baby. Give both the pug and the new mother a break.

A: Bite him back?? Was your pug crate trained, or have an area that is his. Making him stay in that area (not confining, but sending him there) when playing gets to rough may calm him down.

A: She CAN have them now if she is mounted by a male dog, but she SHOULD NOT! A female bug should not be bred until at least it's third heat, closer to two years of age. Study up more on breeding and the pug genetics befor eyou start breeding your pug!

A: YOu will need to hand feed the puppies if the mother refuses.
