A: It is sometimes done to breed a certain characteristics into a dog line, but is usually closely monitored closely. I think breeding pugs in general should be left to people who know what they are doing.

A: 1 cup of food id not enough for a healthy dog. Chewie eats 2 cups a day. *snort* The best bet is to talk to your vet about a proper diet food (perhaps prescription) or pick up a diet food. Light dog foods ro for less active and overweight dogs. They provide the proper nutrition without starving your pug!

A: Swollen and dripping bood! the heat cycle last 28 days, so even if the initial bleeding stopped, the girly parts may still be swollen.

A: He needs to be walked more if he does not have access to the outside. A general rule of thumb is a pug should be walked every 4 to 6 hours, but of course work and sleep make that impossible, but 3 or 4 walks a day is healty. It needs to relieve itself in the middle of the day as well. As for the food, you need to look at the recommended feeding chart for his weight. At 22 lbs, chewie get s a full can of dog food a day (up to 1 1/3) or two cups of dry dog food. I never mix his food. He normally gets kipple unless he is on a prescription diet and then he gets canned. 1/2 cup of kibble and 1/2 a cup of canned food does not sound like a lot, but it depends on your pug's weight!

A: No this is not normal. It sounds like your buddy is mistreating his or her pug! SOunds like it was never house trained and that your firned never cuts its nails. Pugs nails should be cut weekly if it does not live in a an environment where the nails are filed down on its own. A sofr the hair loss, that could be a number of things, but none of them lead to a healthy well-treated pug!

A: I can't really tell you how much water he needs. He needs to have clean fresh water at all times tho.*snort* I drink about 1/2 a gallon of water a day, sometimes more.

A: Try canned food (be careful of recalled products)instead of kibble if you are feeding her kibble. You can also try adding a "gravy" to make her food moist. Most dogs become finicky after birth. But really, call a vet. If you are concerned, the vet may be able to diagnose an infection or other problem that might make her lose her appetite.
